Underhill J, former President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal has published in draft form, new rules of procedure for the conduct of Employment Tribunal claims.

Readers will immediately note the effect of one of stated aims of Underhill J’s review. The language in the rules is designed to be more easily understood by laypersons. However, I challenge anyone to read draft rules 10, 11 and 12 and to suggest that they will create less rather than more legalism.
